Halloween approaches. Not all of the goblins and ghoulies are going to show up knocking at your door begging for candy.
For writers, there are scarier things.
Here’s one ugly little monster I found hiding in the shadows. Don’t take it too seriously, but here it is.
It’s called You’ll Never Have Another Good Idea.
It’s a nasty little thing and hearing it whisper its own name gave me a moment of doubt. But I don’t let it spook me. I keep the batteries fresh in my Light Of Reason and when I shine it on this miserable thing the creature evaporates as if it had never been there.
It’s ridiculous. Of course I’ll have more good ideas. I write them down in my notebooks every day. In fact, I have far too many good ideas. It’s more difficult to know which good idea to work on than to worry that I might run out of them.
If you run across this beastie just haul it out into the nearest Light Of Reason. You’ll be fine.
