Writing Assignment: Write About Wearing A Watch

by Randy Murray on October 10, 2014

You either wear a watch or you do not. You may or may not own one. But it is likely that at some time in your life you have owned one and worn it.

That is a very common modern experience.

Some people today claim that the age of wrist watches is over. You don’t need one because that other thing you carry can tell you the time. But a watch is not just something to tell  you the time. It can be a piece of jewelry. It can be a way to express yourself. It can be something to remind you of someone else, a way to accessorize your clothing, a choice that helps you to set the tone and agenda for the day.

Some, like me, feel a little naked without one.

What do you feel like, with or without a watch?

For today’s assignment write about what it feels like to wear a watch or to not wear one, your choice. Be specific and describe both the physical sensations and the emotional components of wearing (or not) your watch.

For bonus points write separate versions for all of your watches AND for watches that you might like to own and wear.
