Writing Assignment: Write A Single Piece Using All Eight Writing Prompts

by Randy Murray on October 3, 2014

Over the last two weeks I’ve been publishing simple little prompts to help writers take action and write. Let’s up the ante today.

For today’s assignment use all eight of my writing prompts and perform them one after the other to writer a single piece.

Here they are: More Writing Prompts

  1. Take a deep breath
  2. Stand, then sit.
  3. Here’s and apple.
  4. Pencil and paper.
  5. Look out the window.
  6. Pull something out of your pocket, bag, or drawer.
  7. Take a drink of water.
  8. Write your name at the top of the page.

There are eight separate actions. Do each one. You can perform the prompts and then write or write after each prompt. Your choice

My advice is this: do this assignment twice, once starting at #1 and working your way to #8, and then do the opposite and start with #8.
